Managing Director Chile

The position of Managing Director Chile presents a rare opportunity for an entrepreneurial and commercially driven leader. You will build and expand Alotta's market presence and customer base in Chile, representing a pioneering Norwegian energy company with a long-term commitment to the region.
In this mission, you will lead all aspects of establishing and growing the business in Chile — from market development and strategic partnerships to operations and building a local team. You will work closely with the Norwegian management to align local execution with the company’s global strategy.
The role requires a result-oriented and commercially savvy individual with a solid understanding of the Chilean market and business culture, and who enjoys working on a wide variety of tasks. The role reports to the CEO.
Kew Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategies to grow Alotta's business in Chile, in close collaboration with Norwegian management and in alignment with the company's global strategy.
- Identify and pursue commercial opportunities aligned with the company’s technology and capabilities.
- Represent Alotta externally — building a strong, credible brand in the Chilean energy market.
- Build and maintain relationships with key customers, partners, and public authorities.
- Lead regulatory and permitting processes in collaboration with local authorities and customers
- Build strong partnerships with local suppliers, contractors, and service providers to maximize local sourcing and long-term value creation in Chile. Establish and lead the local organization, including operational setup and, potentially, recruitment.
- Oversee financial performance, budgeting, and reporting to the Norwegian headquarters.
- Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and company standards.
- Support the CEO and Board of Directors with decision-useful insights and analyses.
Formal requirements for the role
- A relevant university degree is required, given the scope, responsibility, and complexity associated with the role.
- Proven track record of leading new initiatives or projects from strategy to practical execution, with solid results.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience from a leadership role involving market establishment, business development, or operations management
- Understanding of the energy and/or aquaculture space is a significant plus.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is required. Norwegian or other European language skills are an advantage.
